Care from Dr. Tom Ingegno, DACM, a certified animal acupuncturist
Pets are family. When they slow down, hurt, or heal from an injury, you want to do everything you can to keep them comfortable and thriving.
At Charm City Integrative Health, we take the same approach with animals that we take with people. We work with the body's own ability to heal by reducing inflammation, supporting circulation, easing pain, and improving mobility. Our goal is not to replace your veterinarian. It is to complement their care with proven, gentle therapies that help your pet feel and function better.
We are also honest about what these tools can and cannot do. We do not make miracle claims, and we do not sell hype. We recommend what the evidence supports and what we would use on our own animals.
Each service is tailored to your animal and delivered with patience and care.

Low-frequency electromagnetic therapy has been used by veterinarians for decades. It may support bone and wound healing, post-surgical recovery, and reduced reliance on pain medication.
Hands-on techniques to ease muscle tension, support circulation, and help active or aging animals recover from the activities they love.
Not every pet needs supplements, and the market is full of products that overpromise. We help you cut through the noise and choose evidence-based options that fit your animal's needs.

Dr. Tom Ingegno, DACM, MSOM, LAc, is a certified animal acupuncturist and the founder of Charm City Integrative Health. He has spent his career blending Eastern and Western approaches to help both people and their pets feel their best.
"Acupuncture has been used on animals as long as it has been used on people. Most animals show some improvement within a few treatments."
His perspective on pet wellness has been featured in the New York Post, where he shared an evidence-first take on which therapies genuinely help and which are simply trends.
We start by getting to know your animal and your goals. Sessions are calm and low-stress, and we never force an animal onto a device or table. Many pets settle in quickly and come to enjoy their sessions.
We will always explain what we are doing and why, and we will let you know when we think your veterinarian should be involved.
We work alongside your veterinary team and, depending on your pet's situation, may ask for a referral or records so we can provide the safest care. Reach out and we will walk you through it.
Yes. The therapies we offer are gentle and non-invasive. We tailor every session to your animal and stop any treatment that causes stress or discomfort. Certain therapies are not appropriate for animals with specific conditions, such as a recent severe injury or fracture, which is why we assess each pet first.
We work primarily with dogs and cats. If you have another type of companion, get in touch and we will let you know how we can help.
No. These tools are meant to support comfort, mobility, and quality of life. They work best as a complement to good veterinary care, not a replacement for it.
It depends on your animal and their needs. Many animals show some improvement within a few treatments, and we will build a plan together.
